Adult swimming started airing an 11-minute animated short “The Great Battle of Yokai of Akihabara” on Sunday for the Rick and morty animated television series. The short film will also be shown on Toonami October 16.
Masaru matsumoto directed the short film at Sola Entertainment. Sola digital arts Inc. produced the animation and Yamato Works, Inc. produced the CGI. Naohiro Fukushima wrote the screenplay, and Tetsuya Takahashi composed the music.
Short stars Youhei Tadano like Rick and Keisuke Chiba like Morty. The pair reprized their roles from the Japanese dub of the animated series. Other cast members include Akiha Matsui like summer, Yoshito Yasuhara like Qsaku, Miho Sakurazaka like milk, Shunsuke Nakata as an AI toaster, Yusuke Kond as a trader, and MoeMi as a maid.

Rick’s toaster is broken. To fix it, he and Morty must travel to Akihabara to find the perfect screw and fight an old rival along the way.
DEEN studio previously produced a five-minute animated short “Samurai and Shogun” for the animated series which debuted in March 2020. Staff members included the director and screenwriter. Kaichi Sato, producer Koji Iijima, and executive producer Maki Terashima-Furuta (President of IG United States production).
Satō later revealed in an interview last December that there was a sequel planned for the short film.
Adult swimming also released an eight-minute animated short “Rick and Morty vs. Genocider” in July 2020. Takashi Sano (Tower of God) wrote and directed the short film at Telecom animated film. Sano was also the director of the storyboard and the key animator.
