Coyle’s Auction will offer a two-session Unqualified Antiques and Estate Auction on Tuesday, August 31 at VFW in Medway. The auction will be an eclectic selection of antique American, English and French style furniture, porcelain, cut and antique glass, artwork, pounds sterling, jewelry, lamps, bronzes and more still from New England homes and estates.
Oriental rugs will be offered in Screening 1 at 2:30 p.m. outside in the pavilion, followed by a special screening at 3 p.m. inside, which will feature paintings and works of art exclusively by the Beacon Street home of the late Smoki Bacon. She loved the city of Boston and was a fixture not only on the city’s social scene, but was also very active in helping to improve the lives of others through her volunteer and fundraising efforts as well as her activism. civic. Coyle’s will offer around 60 works of art for sale, including paintings, prints and prints. Session 2 of the auction starts at 5:00 p.m. in the main part of the VFW room. A vintage cherry brass tall clock with arched hood and flame finials, a large antique American corner cabinet with curved back and bold crown moldings, a farmhouse table and Windsor chair sets and a queen federal bed carved acanthus will be some of the items to gift from a great New England home as part of the Americana offerings. A pair of antique Italian-style painted marble consoles is part of the decorative furniture, as well as French-style and custom-made furniture. Mid-Century Modern furniture will be represented by a J. Ward Beam glass and steel coffee table.
Among the estate’s decorative accessories are a pair of 11½ inch lapis lazuli Emperor and Empress figurines, a collection of cut and antique glass including Moser, amberina, cranberry and Bohemian, etc., from a Massachusetts collection. A collection of Parian figurines, small clocks, including an oval brass clock, Atmos, etc., as well as lamps, bronzes, porcelain figurines, Orientalia and other decorative accessories will be offered. Large porcelain table sets, including an Ernie du Bac Paris service with 32 plates from a manor in Maryland, French Lunéville, Cristofle “Rubanea Rouge” for 12, as well as the Baccarat Normandie stemware all highlight the table decorations.
The jewelry, gold and silver will include four $ 2.5 gold coins, 14K and 18K jewelry with diamonds and other stones, a 24K vintage Chinese baby longevity pendant, sterling silver cutlery, a silver continental bowl and several sterling silver prizes to offer.
The works of art of session 2 will include a lithograph “Les Sont Jetes” signed and numbered by hand by Le Corbusier 18/100, two large oils on canvas by Gines Parra, including a colored still life and a queen. Other artists include George Mote, G. Foster, Gustave Lauenroth, and many more. Additional paintings include an antique portrait of a young girl in a white dress, an ancient painting of the mother and child, landscapes, genre paintings and much more. Etchings, engravings and prints by Axel Haig, Childe Hassam, M. Paterson, Cuzzins, Lizars and many more will be on offer.
