American Pickers star Mike Wolfe posts rare antique after feeling ‘pressure’ over Frank Fritz firing

AMERICAN Pickers’ Mike Wolfe has posted a rare antique after admitting to being under “pressure” following the firing of former co-host Frank Fritz.

Mike, 57, shared an image of the feline antiques he was expecting to pick up.

In the Instagram photo, the collection of cats appeared to be lying on the ground.

These andrions serve as a console support for an open fireplace.

The iron bars were shaped like black cats and had glass eyes.

The American Pickers star mentioned he was “picking them up” somewhere in Detroit on Saturday morning.

‘FIND THE WORDS’

Recently, the American Pickers star shared a photo of her two crew members while on set.

He wrote a long message and opened: “Blood, sweat and tears with these two guys. My selection interviews are on a different day. It’s a matter of time, there’s not all just not enough on selection days.”

The TV star continued, “Finding the words after 13 years of doing this show is getting harder. A lot of it is the pressure I put on myself. And the weight I put on telling people’s stories…

“These two help me and sometimes guide me. This shot is what I see when I film. Encouragement, love, understanding and a real passion for this project.”

Mike concluded that he was “very lucky to have people in my life right now who love what they do as much as I do”.

DROP IN RATINGS

The Sun revealed that ratings have plummeted since falling to less than a million viewers in January and July last year for the first time in years.

However, episodes featuring Frank had much higher ratings, such as his last show in March 2020, which had around 1,282,000 tuned viewers.

After his dismissal became public knowledge in July 2021, Frank ended up being replaced by Mike’s brother, Robbie.

Fans began to boycott the History show over Frank’s firing, and many viewers called Robbie “boring”.

One furious viewer tweeted, “Tried to watch one of the new episodes a few days ago and it’s not the same.

“So sad as I’ve been a huge fan over the years. I’ll keep rewatching the oldies instead. Maybe it should have ended when Frank ‘left’.

GO FORWARD

The Sun exclusively revealed that Frank’s ex-girlfriend Diann Bankson, 56, moved on with a new man after their split.

Diann is currently dating Eric Longlett, a resident of Davenport, Iowa, a director of engineering administration.

She debuted her new man on Facebook in February 2022 when the couple attended a family graduation.

Frank and Diann ended their relationship after accusing each other of infidelity.
